Range’s founding members, Noah Kirsch and Sam Walker, have proven experience in financing, developing, and operating solar, storage, and wind projects. In addition, Noah and Sam have been instrumental in building platforms from the ground up, unlocking value from renewable energy in multiple markets across the US.

Collectively, the team has structured over $1B in renewable energy financing and brings together a diverse set of experiences, including project origination & development, project finance, project management, financial and tax reporting, corporate finance, market research, and management consulting.
Noah Kirsch
Principal
Noah Kirsch is a former management consultant who has spent the past ten years in the renewable industry working to accelerate the development of residential, C&I, and utility-scale solar and storage assets.

Noah started independently advising renewable energy developers, real estate owners, investors, and other actors in 2021. In 2023, Noah and Sam partnered together to found Range Renewables.

Before joining Range, Noah was the Vice President of Development and Finance at Valta Energy, where he led all aspects of finance and development. During his time at Valta, Noah helped to double the firm’s AUM in one year through a mix of greenfield development and project M&A, including leading the acquisition of Valta’s largest project to date while managing a team of ten.
Before joining Valta, Noah was the Lead Director of Finance at Wunder Capital. At the time, Wunder Capital was a leading debt financier of small- and medium-scale C&I and community solar projects. Noah helped grow the company from <$10M in financing to over $400M in financing, and oversaw the firm’s origination, sales, and underwriting functions.

Noah started his career as a management consultant at Bain & Company, where he spent two years in the Atlanta office and another in the New York office. While During his time at Bain, Noah worked closely with private equity and corporate clients to help them achieve their strategic goals. Before entering the renewable energy industry, Noah spent two years at an environmental conservation firm founded by a former Goldman Sachs partner, Larry Linden.

Noah holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and Economics from Duke University.
Sam
Walker
Principal
Sam Walker has a decade of experience as a leader in renewable energy project finance and development, working with industry-leading developers such as SunEdison, Terraform Power, and New Columbia Solar.
Sam has traditionally focused on project finance, where he has successfully raised equity and debt financings for over 500 MWs of Residential, C&I, and Utility-Scale Solar projects. Most recently, Sam spent over five years as a partner and head of finance at New Columbia Solar, the leading C&I solar development platform in Washington, DC. Sam successfully oversaw the company's growth from 7 to 85 employees and led the company's project finance, accounting, asset management, FP&A, and corporate finance divisions. Sam was responsible for raising over $100M of tax equity and debt to pair with New Columbia Solar's co-invested equity, as well as leading and successfully closing two rounds of corporate investments into the company for over $40M of growth capital.
Prior to his experience at New Columbia Solar, Sam spent 3 years on the structured finance team at SunEdison and Terraform Power. Sam has spoken at several conferences and events and is a mainstay in the solar community in the Washington, DC area.
Before his career in Renewables, Sam worked at Guggenheim Partners Investment Management, where he was an Analyst in the $60B corporate credit fund, managing investments in the high-yield bond, bank loan, and middle market direct lending markets.
Sam holds a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies and American Studies from Wesleyan University.
